this side of the Pacific. I didn’t inquire about the nature of their actual wedding, but this repeat affair was elaborate and featured all the trimmings of a Traditional Filipino Wedding. Karen and Ian had nine pairs of principal sponsors (godparents) and an additional three pairs of secondary sponsors to participate in the candle lighting, veil and cord ceremonies. They also had a singer, Laura Angelini, whose melodious voice added to the ambiance of the candle-lit, outdoor wedding.

she was joined by more live musical enter-tainment, and supplemented by a disc
jockey. At the beginning of the reception Lyn, the mother of the bride, joined Laura for a fine rendition of the Carpenters’ classic, “Close to You.” That song served only as an introduction as there were more duets to follow... It was no surprise to find that Lyn had herself enjoyed a singing
career earlier in life. Watching Karen as she swayed to the music and sang along (Ian did as well), this bride was obviously happy to share a bit of the spotlight with her mom; she was, in fact, Lyn’s number one fan.
From my first introduction to the family, it was easy to see that Karen and Lyn
shared the proverbial loving bond that only a mother and daughter can share. That Karen was Lyn’s only child made the bond between them that much more special and unique, and extended to her son-in-law, Ian. However the “first” wedding went, mother was determined that her little girl’s “second” wedding – the renewal of vows -- was equally if not more perfect. For Lyn, demonstrating her maternal love by celebrating Karen’s love for Ian, once was not enough.
This was just another example of a www.GreatOfficiants.com ceremony!
