In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that ...they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right." -- Justice Anthony Kennedy, 26 June 2015

(Photo by A. He prepared a Celtic "tying of the knot" ceremony, and it went off without a hitch! He also recited an e.e. cummings poem we selected, and he recited it perfectly (and beleive me, it can be difficult to recite an e.e. cummings poem!). Many of my friends and family members who flew in from different countries to come to our wedding were very impressed with our officiant. He was also so fun to meet with before the big day and we exchanged many friendly and conversational emails beforehand. My mom says hello and is still talking about how beautiful you made our ceremony... You surely exceeded our expectations. Hugs, Crystal & Paul"

A. Mauricio customized the loving couple's wedding, which included traditional Filipino Elements, with a verbal tapestry of how Crystal and Paul met, with threads drawn from "homework" which he assigned to them. The assignment came with instructions for them not to share their work or to collaborate with each other. In other words, there was to be "no cheating!" Crystal and Paul only heard what the other contributed when the words were unveiled by A. Mauricio near the start of their ceremony. This set the tone of their wedding making it distinctly personal, singularly unique. At times laugh out loud funny, at other times sweetly romantic, but always engaging.

Personal highlights for A. Mauricio took place during the reception (the couple's family insisted he stay). What at first seemed to be an exceptional recording covering John Legend's "All of Me" while the newlyweds enjoyed their first dance was actually a live performance with Crystal's mom, Maureen, singing! Later, her daughter proved that the apple really does not fall far from the tree, when Crystal accompanied herself on guitar and serenaded her husband, John, with his favorite Filipino song in Tagalog. This was all the more impressive as her family roots are in The Netherlands!

Thank you, Crystal and Paul and Congratulations! Mauricio went above and beyond to be accommodating to us.
On the rehearsal date he was super friendly to our guests, clear when giving instructions on how the ceremony will proceed. He was interacting with our families so well that we invited him to stay for the dinner.
On our wedding day Mauricio was on time, professional and went through the ceremony seamlessly. As soon as I submitted an inquiry, I received a call the next day by great officiants who provided me with contact information to officiant who met the criteria we were looking for and seemed like a good match. Well sure enough, Rev. Mauricio was a pleasure. Kind, professional and so involved. Truly made the experience that much more special. He provided a personal ceremony for my husband & I.
